Made by you: A look at our customer canvas art

We had a pretty good idea of what we wanted Plan to be when we started it. But one of the things we couldn't have predicted was JUST how good it would feel seeing what other people make with it.
It's one thing spending our days experimenting with paints, making artwork and showing you what's possible with a blank canvas. It's another thing entirely when someone gets a kit delivered to their home, makes something completely their own and then sends us a photo of it hanging on their wall.
The best bit is how different everyone's work is. Some of these pieces are by professional artists, others by people who simply love getting stuck into a creative project, and some by people picking up a paintbrush pretty much for the first time. Different experience levels, different styles and completely different ideas of what to do with a blank canvas. Which is exactly what we hoped would happen.
When we first started Plan, we wanted to make it easier for people to create artwork that felt right for their own space. Something they'd love looking at, be ridiculously proud of making and actually want to hang on their walls. And as much as we love seeing the finished artworks, hearing what people thought of the whole experience has been just as incredible.
- Like Debbie, who had such a good time making her artwork that she ended up turning the canvas practice pieces included in her kit into additional artworks too. We absolutely love that. Those pieces are there to experiment on, but there's nothing stopping them from becoming something in their own right.
- Or Lyndsay, who turned her kit into a date night, made a piece she'd been envisioning for her home and now has it proudly hanging in the guest bedroom.
- Then there's T J, who hadn't painted or done anything particularly creative in years, but loved having an excuse to get back into it while making something for their home.
- And Erik, who finished his review with: "This fully inspired me to start painting again!"
That one really got us. Because beyond all the frames, canvases, paints and finished artwork, that's a huge part of why we started Plan in the first place. Life gets busy, work takes over and making things just for the sake of making them tends to fall further and further down the list.
If something we've created can give someone that little push to pick up a paintbrush again, make time for themselves and remember how much they enjoy being creative, that's about as good as it gets.
So this is really just a big thank you to everyone who's given Plan a go, trusted the process and shared a little bit of what they've made with us. And please keep sending your photos and telling us about your experiences with the kits. It's the highlight of our days, always.
If you're here because you've been thinking about making your own art, hopefully these pieces give you a little push. Every artwork here started with a blank canvas and someone deciding to give it a go.
You can explore our DIY framed canvas art kits and blank canvas kits if you fancy making something of your own. But for now, the spotlight is on you lot.
